Welcome to the Lapeer Church of the Nazarene
LCN is a growing family of believers in Jesus Christ. Worship is contemporary and exciting. Everyone who enters the doors is treated as family. There are no strangers at LCN. Our mission is to connect real people with a real God. We do this through our family friendly atmosphere. Pastor Drew engages the congregation with humor and serious teachings from the Bible. Come check us out, kick the tires, and take us for a test run. We may not be for everybody but we might just be for You!
In Loving Memory of Rev. Russell Spray
_
Rev. Russell E. Spray, 93, of Deckerville, (formerly of Lapeer) died
Saturday, January 21, 2012. He was born September 4, 1918 in Macomb, OK to
parents James and Maudie (Brown) Spray.
Rev. Spray married Pauline E. Mellish on March 8, 1940, not many years after meeting her in Lapeer while traveling as a singer for the Jay & Spray Evangelistic Team. He served God his whole life, being ordained into the Church of the Nazarene ministry in 1954, pastoring churches for 33 years before his retirement.
In retirement, Rev. Spray authored twenty-three books of sermon outlines for pastors – yet another avenue to "preach through others." He even wrote a hymnal. Rev. Russell was a talented mandolin player.
His family and those he ministered to will miss him. His wife preceded Rev. Spray in death: Pauline (Mellish) Spray in 2010.
Lapeer Church of the Nazarene would like to offer our condolences to the family. We celebrate the victory of Rev. Russell Spray whose hope is in the Lord and in the resurrection of the dead.
